The Last Ride is an observation of chuckwagon racing, ongoing colonialist traditions, and decay. The video takes place at a county fair in rural Iowa. As the last ever Chuckwagon race in the region, the film marks an end to the historical reenactment and sport. Originally intended for an interactive installation, the piece was debuted in Haggerty’s Google Art & Culture page and has yet to be realized in a gallery space. A deconstructed archive of development stood in the place of the exhibition.
