A collaboration with fibers artist, Ella Anderson, hosted at The Yellow Wallpaper Project in 2018.
Survival Kit focuses on the story, The Yellow Wallpaper, where the narrator has her most cathartic moments. Woods’ responds to the character’s fantastical obsession with the ordinary as well text. Writing was used as a main coping mechanism for her mental health when stripped away from outside stimulus. Anderson’s sculpture has moving pieces to represent the physical action of peeling off the wallpaper. The space is intended to engage the viewer in a participatory atmosphere.
